Joanne Land Playground – Review

There’s a very cool playground in Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park that is one of our favorite places to play. The Joanne Land Playground, located near the Lakeside Pavilion (at is truly an awesome destination to check out for some free family fun.

The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department partnered with Miracle Recreation Equipment Company to install first-of-its-kind equipment at the park. The playground features huge climbing towers with enclosed netting that includes obstacles, slides, tunnels and more.

The playground also includes a Gravity Rail, a zip-line where kids can climb on a swing that glides along a track and speeds to a downward slope. This is a huge draw, so you can expect some lines here as kids take turns for their ride. This park also has some really fun, colorful climbing structures and a big swing made of rope that fits several kids at once.

The biggest play area is geared for ages 5-12, but for little ones, there is also a smaller playscape and swings, too.

When your kids need a break from the playground, you can also walk down a short path to a nearby pond to watch ducks and geese, or go for a little walk on one of the trails that goes around the park.

We had the best time at this playground! While it is huge with plenty of terrain for play, we would say that you should probably be prepared for crowds, especially on the weekends. With so many cool features, word is out about this fun place for kids.
