Close out this year’s East Austin Studio Tour at the 4th Annual Danger Derby on Sunday, Nov. 22 from 6-10 p.m. at Blue Genie Art Industries. This annual event features unique pinewood “art cars” that will race down a two-story 20 foot tall, 100 foot long track runs from the roof of Blue Genie Headquarters. This is a free and open to the public.
At the event, you’ll find local food trucks, music, and drinks available. Families are most welcome, but the event organizers note that the Danger Derby may not be appropriate for all ages and parents may bring their kids at their own discretion, keeping this in mind for the little ones:
- While it is blocked off for safety, there are dangerous hazards on the track.
- Commentators will be providing more “colorful” commentary during the races that may not be appropriate for all ages.
- Some of the cars will have sculptures that display more “adult” content and may not be appropriate for all ages.
