5 Fun Things in Cedar Park

The greater Austin metro area includes some amazing, award-winning small cities and fantastic neighborhoods full of kid-friendly amenities, such as the booming city of Cedar Park, Texas!

Our Do512 Family Field Expert Jess Kilbane, creator of Playdates and Prosecco, shares her top 5 favorite things to do with her family in Cedar Park

— Austin Steam Train
Head to the Cedar Park Depot and hop on one of the vintage Austin Steam Train vintage flyers! They have multiple different flyers (head out to the historic Bertram Depot or take a cruise through the Hill Country) and countless themed rides (a princess flyer, the sunset express, even a wine train!) making this a great option for all ages. The Cedar Park car was added to the fleet in 2018 and is wheelchair accessible.

— Brushy Creek Lake Park
Located at 3300 Brushy Creek Rd, Brushy Creek Lake Park has been a favorite of ours for years! 90-acres of park houses a playground, bocce courts, a splash pad, a lake for canoe/kayak/fishing, and trails! We love heading there early in the morning and hitting the trails, then cooling off at the splash pad after. Plus, if you’re interested in a group fitness class or playdates, you can find FIT4MOM Austin there 3 days a week!

— H-E-B Center
The H-E-B Center at Cedar Park is home to the Austin Spurs (basketball) and the Texas Stars (hockey), but also hosts a handful of events throughout the year. We’ve seen the Cedar Park Rodeo, Kidz Bop, PJ Masks, Disney on Ice, and more all right here in Cedar Park! They host a wide variety of events, so there is sure to be something the whole family will enjoy.

— Splash Shack
Though it’s technically a “micro” waterpark, Splash Shack is perfect for littles under the age of 10! It’s 10,000 square feet of indoor water fun, with a 30-foot-tall structure of slides, a dump bucket, and fountains. Purchase snacks and drinks or order Dominos pizza to be delivered for a solid afternoon of fun!

— The Crossover
If you’ve wanted to hit the ice, the Crossover is the place to go! The Crossover (formerly iSports) is brand new to Cedar Park and features a TON to do. Located inside of this 240,000 square foot building you can find Chaparral Ice, where you can attend a public skate, sign up for hockey or figure skating, curling, plus lacrosse, taekwondo, and youth soccer. Perfect for birthday parties and events or a random day to beat the heat!
