One of our favorite free springtime events for kids is coming up on Sunday, April 23 from 1-5 p.m. Head over to Rosewood Park for the 5th Annual Children’s Picnic: A Real Food Fair, hosted by Edible Austin magazine. Let the kids play in the sunshine, meet farmers, learn about gardening, sample bites from local, healthy food vendors, listen to music & storytellers at this community party for all.
This free event focuses on healthy living with lots of activities, games, food tastings, a planting garden, and booths with local artisans. Click here for a full list of vendors.
Getting There: Public parking can be found at the Rosewood Ave. parking lots as well as within free spaces along public streets. But consider riding your bike. Bike racks will be provided at the Pleasant Valley entrance as well as the entrance to the parking lot on Chestnut Ave. Closest bus stops include: Route 6, Stop 1819 12th and Chicon or Route 2, Stop 1909 Rosewood and Chicon.
Don’t forget to bring your own picnic blanket!
