9th Annual Austin Batfest

batfest

Saturday, August 24, get ready for a batty evening at the 9th Annual Austin Batfest. Starting at 4 pm at the Congress Avenue Bridge, and stretching until dusk when the bats take flight, Batfest pays homage to our furry little flying friends in true Austin style. Watch in wonder as 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from under the bridge, filling the sky with dark swirls of batty coolness. Then, fill your evening with music from 10 bands on two stages, fill your belly with great food and drink and fill your reusable bag with good from more than 75 arts & crafts vendors. Not enough for you? Don your best bat duds and enter the bat costume contest and enjoy other bat-centric activities.
