Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Austin

A startling statistic is that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. This month, Austin businesses are doing their part to raise awareness, money, and more for the fight against cancer. Here is a guide to local ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Austin.

W. Austin
W Austin wants you to drink and #ThinkPink this Breast Cancer Awareness Month! They’ve created a colorful, refreshing cocktail composed of vodka and strawberry rosemary lemonade called “The Breast Lemonade Ever”. $1 from all sales is donated to the Breast Cancer Resource Center. This delightful drink is available at all of the hotel’s Living Room bars as well as the WET deck. So, sip freely!

AWAY Spa
Truffle and glass of Rosé before your pampering? Of course! AWAY Spa will be donating 10% of  Mani/Pedis proceeds to the Breast Cancer Resource Center. This October month, stay pretty inside and out when you support.


Kerbey Lane Cafe
Pink Pancakes are sizzling at Kerbey Lane Cafe!  Savor the most delectable of breakfast foods while supporting the Breast Cancer Resource Center. Just to tempt your taste-buds further, the pancake of the week is Strawberry Confetti, made vegan and gluten-free on request with beet juice! Also, Kerbey Lane is selling some ridiculously adorable “Cakes for a Cure” t-shirts.

Dancers Shape 
This October, Dancers Shape and the American Cancer Society are teaming up to beat breast cancer! Guests can receive a shopping card that provides a 20% discount to participating retailers all over Austin, provided they give a minimum contribution of $75. All of the proceeds from this savers card, 100%, will be donated! Who knew shopping could be so rewarding?

Participating Stores, like Brighton, are pumped about participating in the annual Power of Pink initiative! For the month of October, Brighton will be offering their exclusive Limited Edition Power of Pink jewelry line. $10 of proceeds will support a local Austin charity. Surprise, pink gifts are also available at Guest Services with package purchase as well as sweet discount cards!

Pink donations and deals at Hill Country Galleria’s  participating stores! Shop the new Pink Ribbon Line at The Walking Company to help them reach their goal of donating over $900,000 to City of Hope. Or check out Soma’s bra selections in support the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Foundation. Save, support, and strut on over this October! Want to sip and shop? Scare For A Cure
For the adrenaline seekers, Scare for a Cure presents Return to Mutant Wasteland, the 2017 haunt! This adventure is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to sprint past groaning mutant zombies and view all sorts of gory horrors for this one of a kind apocalyptic thrill!


Formula 1
This year the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so the motorsport organization has decided to be a platform for change. They’ve launched a worldwide annual campaign to highlight the importance of breast awareness, educate, and raise funds for research. Online channels will be open for survivors to connect and share stories. Donations will be accepted throughout the weekend.  Pink merchandise will also be available for sale. With this kind of support, we all will win this race for the cure.
