Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls is an organization dedicated to helping young people cultivate their authentic selves, and they emphasize intelligence & imagination over “fitting in.” Smart Girls is teaming up with Geek and Sundry, as well as Nerdist, to host two parties during SXSW Interactive. These free, family-friendly events will take place at Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden on Friday, March 11 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

The parties will feature music performances, activities and a panel discussion. Entry is free and does not require a wristband or RSVP.

–> Friday­ March 11

• 1 – 2 p.m. — Dr. Kate Biberdorf, Fun with Chemistry
• 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. —  Knights of Steel­ Steel Drum Band

–> Saturday­ March 12

• 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. —  Panel: PowerPuff Girls + Tiarra Girls Band
