Join us in celebrating Mother Earth at the 2016 Austin Earth Day Festival. We hope to see all of you at this free, family friendly event on Saturday, Apr. 23 at Mueller Browning Hangar from noon – 7 p.m. Connect with the Austin community at this event that features 150+ exhibitors, hands-on activities for kids, inspiring speakers, and delicious food vendors, and live music from Asleep at the Wheel, Ruby Jane, Sweet Spirit and more. Free admission!

–> Music: There’s an incredible line-up of musicians, and the event closes with 10-time Grammy Award-winning artists, Asleep at the Wheel. Click here for more info about the music line-up.

  • Riders Against the Storm  – 1:30 p.m., field stage)

–> Kid’s Zone: Kids will be entertained by the kid’s stage MC, Paprika, who has performed her unique comedy throughout the world in 30 countries for 20 years for kids of all ages. Her family friendly show of comedy juggling and unicycling has won Best Kid’s Entertainer by the Austin Chronicle and been recognized in TV, Films and in the local coffee shop. The kids stage entertainment also includes:

  • Polly Mermaid makes friends with TRASH!12:45 – 1:30 p.m.
    Polly Mermaid invites the audience to make puppet friends from materials you can find in the garbage can.
  • Heartsong Music1:40 – 2:10 p.m.
    Heartsong Music presents an early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through grade two and the adults who love them.
  • Lucas Miller, the “singing zoologist” 2:15 – 3 p.m.
    With a head full of science, a heart full of music and a wagon-load of truly goofy props, Lucas has earned the adoration of wiggly preschoolers, surly sixth graders and stoic principals alike.
  • Move Your Tale Improv Class3:05 – 3:50 p.m.
    Move Your Tale, ColdTowne Theater’s Youth Program, creates Improvised, interactive comedies for kids and teens. Their live comedy invites audience members to join in as characters, sound effects and storytellers.
  • Staci Gray4 – 4:45 p.m.
    Staci Gray is an Austin-based children’s performer who has mesmerized children all over Texas with her music.Her original music gets children to sing, dance and be just plain silly!

–> Transportation and parking?Garage parking will be free for festival attendees. The parking garage and Thinkery are located 1 block east of the circle at Aldrich St. (north entrance to the festival grounds). Bus Options include: Capital Metro busses #37 & #350 that stop at the hangar. You’re also encouraged to ride bikes to the festival if you can. They’ll be plenty of bike parking.
