— Kids can create their own Heart Tie-Dyed T-shirt at the Art Garage. Drop in for open studio time from 3-7 p.m. when instructors will show you how to create a perfect Valentine shirt! The cost is $16 per shirt. You’ll want to call ahead to reserve your time and request your shirt size. 512-852-9900

— Moms, you can bring your daughter to Safari Champ in Round Rock at 6 p.m. for a Mommy-Daughter Princess Makeover Party. Get skin care advice and tips for busy moms while making your daughters feel like princesses. Little girls can feel free to arrive dressed up like their favorite princess. Cost is $10 and includes admission to Safari Champ and complimentary drinks.

— Bring your family to Central Market North for Creative Action’s FriendFest from 1-3 p.m.! Do512 Family is proud to sponsor this FREE event. Families can enjoy an afternoon of fun Valentine’s Day crafts, treats, live music and a Friendship Parade! See you there!

— Celebrate Texas Wildlife Day at the Texas Memorial Museum! Enjoy free admission on this special day when you can explore everything feathered, furred, smooth and scaled. Also check out free family-friendly activities from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. that will be hosted by local naturalists and science educators.

— You can take the family to the downtown Whole Foods Market rooftop plaza for the Austin Alternative School Fair from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Learn about some of Austin’s unique educational programs and try hands-on activities. Also check out a free performance from Lucas Miller, the Singing Zoologist at 1 p.m.

— The 6th Annual Sherwood Forest Faire kicks off today! Be magically transported back in time at this fun-filled, charming Renaissance Faire based on the tales of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Enjoy faeries, swordplay, theatre, magic, comedy, and games. The Faire will run every weekend through Sunday, Mar. 29 from 10 a.m. – dusk in McDade, Texas. — Get ready to play in the snow at the Travisso community in Leander, TX. This Snow Day is free and open to the public, and it will begin at 12 p.m. with 20,000 pounds of snow for building snowmen and having a good, old-fashioned snowball fight. Guests are invited to play until the snow melts and will thaw out with après ski beverages, like hot cocoa and chocolate fondue.

— Take the kids fishing at the 2nd Annual Hooked on Mueller event from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Everyone’s invited to head over to Mueller Lake Park and catch one of the 2,000 rainbow trout that will be stocked in the lake by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Enjoy live music, cooking demos, prizes, and more at this free event!

— Families are in for a treat when Duncan Tonatiuh’s award-winning children’s book, Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote: A Migrant’s Tale, comes to life on the stage at the Scottish Rite Theatre at 2 p.m. In this play, Pancho Rabbit meets danger at every stage of his journey to find his missing Papá. — Kids can enjoy a free party at Ashley’s Playhouse Anniversary Bash from 1-4 p.m. This fun, drop-in childcare center is celebrating a great 1st year in business with tons of free family fun for all ages. Enjoy bounce houses, an obstacle course, food, games, prizes, face painting and more.
