The 9th Annual Austin Humane Society Puppy Bowl is a family-friendly event featuring adorable AHS adoptable puppies dressed in uniform, as well as some kitten cheerleaders! This Puppy Bowl takes place from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Austin Humane Society where you’ll also find food trucks, face painting, tailgating games, crafts, a DJ and more. Free admission! Pippi Longstocking is back by popular demand at the Austin Scottish Rite Theatre. See her entertain kids of all ages along with a horse on the porch, a monkey in the kitchen and her best friends, Tommy & Annika. You can catch the show today at 11 a.m.  & 1 p.m. Tickets are $8 per child (ages 12 & under) and $12 for ages 13 & up. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the show or online here.

— Take part in a free Kite-Making Workshop at the Oswaldo A.B. Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center from 1-3 p.m. Build your own kite to fly at the upcoming Zilker Kite Festival happening on Sunday, March 6!

— Learn all about the Lone Star State’s extreme weather at the annual WeatherFest event at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. Families are invited to the Bullock for FREE admission from noon – 5 p.m. with special weather weather-related programs from noon – 3 p.m. You can check out plenty of hands-on activities and science experiments, too.

Terra Toys is inviting kids of all ages into the store for a FREE Valentine’s Craft event today from 1-3 p.m. Children can decorate a hand-cut wooden heart that could make a beautiful Valentine’s Day gift for someone special.

— Check out ZACH Theatre‘s storybook-inspired show Tomás and the Library Lady at 2 p.m. This tells an inspirational story of a boy named Tomás who meets a “library lady” who encourages him to read.
