Gather some friends for a night out on Wednesday, July 29 at a free screening of The Naked Gun on the lawn of the Long Center! Do512 and Alamo Drafthouse present Austin Sound & Cinema with music from Hard Proof followed by The Naked Gun on the big screen. The fun starts around 6 p.m.
–> Food! Food trucks will be setup on the Long Center Terrace and will open at 6 p.m. Vendors include Garbo’s Lobster Rolls, Frank Hotdogs, Yeti Frozen Custard, Boomerang’s Meat Pies, The Peached Tortilla, Whole Foods and Uncle Louie G’s Italian Ice. YUM!
–> Free Music & Movie! Hard Proof will bring some funk to the stage at 7:30 p.m. and will play until around 8:30 p.m. Then The Naked Gun will play shortly afterward, once it gets dark.
–> What to Bring: Arrive early go get a good spot. The Long Center lawn provides plenty of room to play around with the kids before everything starts to help them from getting antsy. Bring games or a ball to throw around if you’d like! Attendees are welcome to bring folding chairs (but will have to sit toward the back), blankets and personal coolers with non-alcoholic beverages. Please do not bring pets, glass containers or alcohol.
The event is absolutely free to attend! Parking at the Long Center garage costs $8 cash or credit. Click here for more parking info.
Parents, we totally understand that you might not want to keep the kids up late or they may be too young for the movie (this one is rated PG-13), but it’s certainly cool to come, picnic, enjoy the food trucks, the sights of the city, listen to some awesome local music and duck out early. Whatever works for your family. OR it might be just the right night to get a sitter and just hang out with other grown-ups.
