The Fun Run in Zilker Park takes you through Austin Trail of Lights on Saturday, December 3 before it officially opens. You’re welcome to dress up in a jolly holiday costume, run or walk through the trail and then stick around for the ultimate after party, the Finish Line Festival. The all-ages party includes cocoa or beer, free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Ferris wheel and carousel rides, and a dance party and costume contest.

You can sign up for a start time that works best for you and your family:

  • Wave 1 — 5:45pm start time : Lead The Pack! Recommended for those looking to run the course
  • Wave 2 – 6:45pm start time: This is a great option for families with young kids because it’s still early enough to Fun Run, party at the Finish Line Festival, and make it home for bed time.
  • Wave 3 – 7:45pm start time: Make a night of it! Not too early. Not too late. You can even happy hour first, then Fun Run

Pricing & Registration: Pricing varies per wave per tier. Prices will increase throughout the season as quantities sell out. You can also purchase a Finish Line Festival ONLY pass for $20 per person if you have family members who will not be racing.

— Early Bird Adult Registration (ages 12 & up)
Wave 1 = $40 | Wave 2 = $35 | Wave 3 = $35

— Early Bird Youth Registration (ages 11 & under)
Wave 1 = $20 | Wave 2 = $20 | Wave 3 = $20

Toy Drive with Chuy’s & Operation Blue Santa: As you may have heard, Chuy’s is not hosting the Children Giving to Children Parade this year, but instead is focused on gathering toys for kids in need during Trail of Lights. At the Fun Run, attendees will be encouraged to participate in Chuy’s long-standing annual effort to support the Austin Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa Program, providing toys and food for local families in need during the holiday season.
