Celebrate the biggest RETRO video game convention in Texas at Classic Game Fest Saturday, Aug. 16 and Sunday, Aug. 17! The Palmer Event Center will be full of classic old school games and systems so the family can play the day away. Save your quarters, because arcade games and systems will be on free-play!

Alamo South Lamar and The Highball are BACK

Rejoice, movie fans. The Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar and The Highball will both re-open their doors to the public this Saturday, August 16! Located in the newly coined “Lamar Union” complex in South Austin, the theater will be open in time to host Fantastic Fest 2014 and the Austin opening of director Michel Gondry’s highly anticipated new film, Mood Indigo.

Bastrop SUP Cup

If you’ve been down to Ladybird Lake in the morning, you may have seen a lot of people on stand up paddleboards. It’s officially a “thing” to do this summer. And this weekend, historic Bastrop is hosting the SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Cup, a whole weekend of water races and activities from Friday August 15 to Sunday August 17.
