Who will be named this year’s “BBQ Austin Grand Champion”? Head on over to the Travis County Expo Center on Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5th to check out the excitement at the annual BBQ Austin event! You’ll get to sample free BBQ as teams from all over Texas compete for the title of “State of Texas BBQ Grand Champion.” You’ll also get to enjoy the fun at Austin’s largest carnival on the Rodeo Austin Fairgrounds. Plus, the evenings will conclude with concerts on the outdoor stage. Scroll below to win a 4-pack of tickets for Fairgrounds admission.

All BBQ Teams, while competing in several contests, provide BBQ to the public for sampling. Many teams will also set up elaborate spaces to welcome folks to join in on the fun.

The Fairgrounds will open at 11 a.m. each day. Fairgrounds admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids. You can purchase one-day admission tickets online here. Parking is $10 at the gate.

Rodeo Austin is also home to Austin’s largest carnival, which will be open during BBQ Austin event. Enjoy over 80 carnival rides, games and other amusements! (Carnival rides & games do require additional fees.)

Concerts will take place on the outdoor stage from 2 – 7:30 p.m. Whiskey Myers will be headlining the event at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4. Josh Abbott Band will be headlining the event at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. (Tickets for the concerts are available online here.)
