“Bug Stalking” Photography Exhibit

If your kids love to explore the fascinating world of insects and bugs, you can take them to check out a free photography exhibit at the Julia C. Butridge Gallery at the Dougherty Arts Center now through Saturday, August 15. Austin photographer Michelle Dapra Atkinson, who has been stalking tiny creatures for almost a decade, reveals close-ups of insects and spiders in colorful environments.

–> Meet the Bugs! On Tuesday, August 4 from 12-1 p.m., Austin photographer Michelle Dapra Atkinson, will talk about how she created the macro photographs. Everyone who visits will get a chance to meet real arthropods from the Austin Nature Science Center, including scorpions, millipedes and a tarantula live and up close.
