Fantastic Magic Camp Winter Break Camp & New Year’s Eve Lock-In

This holiday season, let the kids learn important skills like juggling, puppetry, clowning and magic at the Fantastic Magic Camp Winter Break session, complete with a New Year’s Eve Lock-In so you can party down and know the kids are safe. You can either sign up for the whole shebang or just a day, depending on your needs.

Abel’s North Pole

On Sunday, December 15, bundle up and head north because there’s a whole lotta fun to be had at Abel’s North Grill and Tap House during the Abel’s North Pole holiday event from 1 – 6 pm. The kids can take a train ride, decorate sugar cookies, bounce and slide their hearts out and get photos with Santa from 2 – 5 pm. Meanwhile, adults can enjoy wine and snacks, watch their favorite NFL team or just relax. Admission is free with an unwrapped toy donations for Gateway Church’s Giving Tree Project.

 

Integrity Academy at Casa de Luz, Enrolling Now

If you are familiar with Casa de Luz, then you already know that it is a place that makes you immediately feel better upon entering. Most people know it as a restaurant, but there is much more happening at that little sweet spot on Toomey Rd. It is a community center that regularly holds classes and sessions in yoga, tai chi, neural retraining, authentic relating and much, much more. The restaurant serves a 100 percent organic and whole-food breakfast, lunch and dinner. And now, Case de Luz can add an amazing school to their offerings.

Back to School Bash

On Saturday, August 24, the City of Austin is hosting the Back to School Bash at the Austin Convention Center from 9 am – noon. Get all the info you could ever want about AISD programs and community services, free immunizations (yay, shots!), free backpacks and school supplies (while they last) and even door prizes!

9th Annual Austin Batfest

Pay homage to our furry little flying friends in true Austin style at the 9th Annual Austin Batfest on Saturday, August 23 starting at 4 pm at the Congress Avenue Bridge. Enjoy music from 10 bands on two stages, great food & drink, vendors, a bat costume contest and activities. Oh, and don’t forget to see the 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats take flight over Town Lake at dusk! Tickets $7 at the gate, kids 10 and under free. VIP passes available for $56 in advance.
