Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria: Family Saturday

On Saturday, Mar. 8, pause before Southby completely takes over to enjoy some art and culture at The Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria: Family Saturday. From 11 am – 3 pm, families are welcome to partake in hands-on art-making workshops inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions.

Bring the whole gang, especially kiddos ages 2 – 11, to Laguna Gloria to see performances, meet local artists and make some art to take home. This Saturday’s festivities will feature a petting zoo inspired by Pet Sounds, artist Charles Long’s colorful installation named for the 1966 Beach Boys album now on view at the museum. Meet real potbelly pigs (and just try not to want to take one home), goats and other furry creatures, then make some animal-themed art to keep.

Admission to Laguna Gloria is $5 for adults, free for kids. Family Saturdays occur on the second Saturday of every month.
