Day Out with Thomas: The Steam Team Tour

Take the kids for a ride on a real, full-sized Thomas the Train! Austin Steam Train invites you to join them for their exciting annual visit from Thomas, the No. 1 blue engine, and enjoy a day of fun filled Thomas & Friends™ themed activities. Day Out with Thomas: The Steam Team Tour takes place in Burnet, Texas on September 28 & 29 at the Burnet Community Center. For Thomas fans, this is the biggest event of the year! Meet Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway, and enjoy crafts, storytelling, videos, train play tables, coloring, temporary tattoos, magician, a rock climbing wall, balloon twisters, and much more!

You can enjoy a 25-minute train ride aboard vintage cars pulled by Thomas, departing every 50 minutes throughout both days, rain or shine. Departure times begin at 8:30 a.m. through 5:40 p.m. each day of the event.The 3-mile round-trip ride takes you through the Texas Hill Country where you will see native Texas trees and local farmland in the city of Burnet. On board, you can expect photo opportunities, music, a special Engineer Certificate, and activities lead by train attendants. All seats are air-conditioned. Parking is free, and is immediately adjacent to the Community Center. Food is available for purchase on-site.
