We’re pretty excited about all the fun that’s coming up when scores of musician will descend upon Austin with big, bold and brassy musical mayhem! HONK!TX is a festival of community street bands that takes place on Friday, Mar. 27 through Sunday, Mar. 29 with shows in locations throughout the city that are free and open to the public.
HONK!TX is a nonprofit, community-driven festival that brings brass bands from around the country to perform an array of genres ranging from European Klezmer and Balkan, to New Orleans second-line brass music, in the public spaces of Austin. If you haven’t experienced HONK!TX before, you’re in for such a treat. It’s more than just a music festival — it is a celebration of community, collaboration, individuality, and creative expression.

On Friday, Mar. 27 you’ll find bands on South Congress from 6-10 p.m. On Saturday, Mar. 28 bands will be in the Hyde Park area from 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., and on Sunday, Mar. 29 you can enjoy a fun parade in Pan Am Park that starts at 12 p.m.
