Bring on the big, bold, brassy musical mayhem! We can’t wait for musicians to descend upon Austin for HONK!TX, a free festival of community street bands. From Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April, you’ll be able to check out highly entertaining shows in locations throughout the city.
HONK!TX is a nonprofit, community-driven festival that brings brass bands from around the country to perform an array of genres ranging from European Klezmer and Balkan, to New Orleans second-line brass music, in the public spaces of Austin. If you haven’t experienced HONK!TX before, you’re in for such a treat. It’s more than just a music festival — it is a celebration of community, collaboration, individuality, and creative expression.
Over the course of three days, dozens of bands will play for the public in many locations in Austin. Click here to see the massive line-up & schedule. HONK!TX is organized by day in the following geographic locations:
- Friday, April 1 — South Congress, 7-10 p.m.
- Saturday, April 2 — Hyde Park, 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Sunday, April 3 — Pan-Am Park, 12-5 p.m.
