Do512 Family - What to do in Austin with Kids

Levitation 2016

We’ll be honest. When we heard that Brian Wilson was going to be at Levitation this year playing the entire Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds album, we were totally geeking out with excitement. But he’s not the only artist we’re looking forward to seeing at this year’s music festival — Ween, Lee Scratch Perry, Animal Collective, Courtney Barnett, The Black Angels, and so much more! Levitation’s awesome lineup spans the globe and five decades of acclaimed artists, and we can’t wait for three days of music and camping at this annual event on Friday, April 30 through Sunday, May 1.

Held on the 58-acre Carson Creek Ranch, just minutes from downtown Austin on the banks of the Colorado River, the festival setting is as unique as the music. With just a short drive (or shuttle ride), you’ll feel like you’re actually out in the country side. You even have the option taking a tent, and camping on site at the Ranch. In addition to the great music lineup, you can expect an impressive array of vendors at this festival. You can shop a big selection of vintage clothing & artisan jewelry as well as sampling foods & beverages from a diverse group of local food trucks. Click here for vendor info.

Thinking about bringing the kids? While Levitation is an all ages event, attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. It is not a family-oriented festival, but it is family-friendly festival. If you’re bringing your kiddos, they must stay with you at all times. Kids ages 13 and under are admitted for free with a parent. Also, take note that ear plugs are recommended for everyone, especially the kids.

Tickets for the event are offered with a variety of options: 3-day passes, single day tickets, camping, deluxe upgrades, etc. Click here to get details about all ticketing options and to purchase passes online. General admission 3-day passes are $185 plus taxes & fees, and single-day passes are $75 plus taxes & fees.

Visit the Levitation website to learn more about the lineup, venue, FAQ, directions, parking & shuttles.
