We just love an excuse to party, and the Long Center has just the perfect occasion coming up — it’s their 10th anniversary! For 10 years, the Long Center has been Austin’s cultural hub and home to some of our very favorite events — Sound & Cinema, Bubblepalooza, Santa on the Terrace, and an amazing line-up of dance, theatre and musical performances. We hope you’ll come out and join us on Sunday, September 9 from 1- 5 p.m. for the Long Center’s Birthday Bash!
This party is free and open to all ages and will include a variety of activities both inside and out on their expansive lawn. Hear live music from Grupo Fantasma, participate in goat yoga, and bring the kids for face painting, glitter tattoos, yard games, bubbles, photo ops, a bounce house, and more!
Our Do512 Family team will be out on the Long Center Terrace with old-fashioned party games with an Austin twist, such as “Pin the Hat on the Bat”! Be sure to stop by our tent for free party hats and prizes (while supplies last)! Additionally, be sure to check out all of these fun activities…
- Grupo Fantasma — These Latin funk masters will perform twice in Dell Hall. Take your pick of our seats when doors open at 1:45 p.m. & 3:45 p.m.
- Goat Yoga from GOGA – Goat Yoga will be provided for free, and classes are open to ages 13+, and will be capped at 25 people. Sign up for your spot here.
- Austin Symphony, Austin Opera & Ballet Austin — These resident performing arts organizations will be celebrating with activities for the whole family.
- Art with Wiley Ross — It’s your turn to take the brush! With a guiding hand of course from local artist Wiley Ross and a technological twist.
- Lawn Games & Food Trucks — Hang out on the front lawn with a bounce house, face painters, glitter tattoos, yard games, bubbles, photo ops, screen printed T-shirts, and your choice of food trucks curated by Trailer Food Productions.
- Relax in the Tito’s Lounge — Grownups can enjoy drink specials and comfy couches.
- Cupcakes: What’s a party without cake, right? Enjoy cupcakes provided by H-E-B!
What to bring: Bring the whole family and your friends, too! Leashed pups are welcome on the lawn. Feel free to bring a blanket and folding chairs to sit outdoors. You can expect bag and cooler checks at the door, so please leave your alcohol and weapons at home.
Parking will be offered in the Long Center garage for $8.
