We’re pretty okay when it comes to making paper bag puppets, maybe even sock puppets, too, but DIY marionette-making sounds like something that might get us all tangled up. Lucky for us, the amazing art instructors at Laguna Gloria are teaching families how to make their own Scary Marionettes on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
As part of their Second Saturdays program, they offer hands-on art-making workshops every month. Recommended for ages 2–11, you’re invited to drop in and create! The cost to participate is $10 per family or $5 per family for members.
Will your marionette character be spooky, funny, or strange? You can bring it to life as you dream up its story. This month’s project is inspired by Paul McCarthy’s sculpture White Snow #3, which you can also check out on the grounds of Laguna Gloria while you’re there!
Go make something awesome!
