Gather the family for a fun day outdoors at McKinney Falls State Park on Saturday, June 6. You can step back in time as you spend the day with the buffalo soldiers, Native Americans and early cowboys at the Outdoor Heritage Day and Family Festival from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Enjoy free, family-friendly activities with Texas Parks and Wildlife. You can try to beat the soldiers in a game of old baseball, learn to use a compass, track animals and go on a guided bike tour.
Located 13 miles from downtown Austin, McKinney Falls State Park offers hiking, biking, picnicking and camping along the banks of Onion Creek. Admission to McKinney Falls State Park is $6 per adult, and kids 12 and under are free. For more information, please visit the McKinney Falls State Park website.
