Throughout the month of April, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is celebrating the wit and whimsy of Hayao Miyazaki with special screenings of films from his animation and production house, Studio Ghibli.
Japanese filmmaker, Miyazaki, is known for incredible cinematic achievements including such films at Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and more. Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli inspire imaginations all over the world, and you can check out the Studio Ghibli catalog with screenings all month long at various Austin-area Alamo Drafthouses.
Specifically for younger kids, you’ll find the following selection of dubbed versions in English, geared towards families with children ages 3 & up:
- My Neighbor Totoro @ Alamo Slaughter Lane, April 7, 1:10 p.m. (tickets here)
- Kiki’s Delivery Service @ Alamo Lakeline, April 21, 10:20 a.m. (tickets here)
- Kiki’s Delivery Service @ Alamo Slaughter Lane, April 22, 10:45 a.m. (tickets here)
