Due to extreme weather conditions, Monday’s march in Austin was canceled.  The festival and food drive have been rescheduled for Saturday, January 27th from 11 am to 3:30 pm at Huston-Tillotson University.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a national initiative to strengthen communities, bridge barriers between different groups of people, and create solutions to social problems. For this important annual occasion – and the only national holiday dedicated as a National Day of Service –  we’ve put together a list of several engaging and FREE ways your family can learn about the lessons of Dr. King and honor his legacy.

The Annual Community March celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy while uplifting diversity and multiculturalism in Austin. This year, participants are asked to help by donating canned goods or non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Central Texas Food Bank.  Donation receptacles will be available at The University of Texas and the Capitol, while the march is in those locations.
