Have you had a chance to swim through the sprinkle pool at the Museum of Ice Cream? Housed withing a bubblegum pink building in The Domain is the Museum of Ice Cream. This colorful and whimsical space is a showcase of installations all tied loosely to the theme of ice cream. It’s basically a silly fun house to walk through and take some cheerful photos. And yes, plenty of ice cream comes included with your admission ticket!
Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) has roots as a popular New York City attraction that branched out with popup locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Singapore — welcoming in over 2 million visitors. Austin is now home to the MOIC’s latest location that features 12 installations dedicated to the celebration of ice cream.
When you arrive for your set ticketed time, you will be guided through several rooms in which you can take playful photos. The 3 most popular experiences are the the Sprinkle Pool, Banana Forest and Rainbow Tunnel. As you go through the MOIC, you will be served five treats like the carnival cotton candy and a Shirley Temple soft serve.
Tickets are sold by a set date and time and range from $29 – $32 per person depending on day of the week. (Children ages 2 and under are free). Your ticket allows you one hour to play around the MOIC and also includes a frozen popsicle, soft serve ice cream, cotton candy, a fill-your-own bag of candy, and more ice cream featuring special flavors made just for MOIC from Amy’s Ice Creams.
