Families in Mueller and surrounding neighborhoods, get ready for a new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema coming your way in 2016! Alamo Drafthouse just unveiled its plan for its new location in Mueller’s town center.
The theater will feature six screens, a bar along and a live stage for music. And it sounds like we can expect some fun, family-friendly programming at this new location:
“I’ve recently been charged with creating great cinema experiences for kids ages 3 to 18 at the Alamo,” says Amy Averett, Alamo Director of Family and Community Engagement. “We look forward to bringing lots of great new family-focused programs as well as our ‘Alamo Drafthouse NEXT’ youth film program to the neighborhood.”
Founded in 1997 by Tim and Karrie League, the Alamo Drafthouse has become a fixture in the Austin film community and has consistently been named “Best Theater in Austin” by the Austin Chronicle for the past 15 years. Now expanding nationwide, the theaters have been heralded for their unique programming events and high exhibition standards, earning accolades such as “best theater ever” (Time Magazine) and “the coolest theater in the world” (Wired).
