New Lions at the Austin Zoo

The Austin Zoo has some exciting new residents! They recently welcomed two two male Transvaal lions, and they will be ready to greet guests on Saturday, April 16. Sango and Jelani are brothers who are about 2 ½ years old, each weighing about 370 pounds. These lions were displaced by renovations taking place at their former home, Reid Park Zoo in Tucson, Arizona.

lionsThe Austin Zoo, a rescue facility and animal sanctuary, is happy to provide a new permanent home to these animals.
