Kids Can Learn to DJ at OontzKids Summer Camp

Do your kids LOVE music? How’d they like to learn how to DJ this summer? OontzKids DJ Academy is hosting a very special Summer DJ Camp for kids ages 8 and up from Tuesday, June 20 through Thursday, June 22 at TechShop in Round Rock.

DJs are the new rockstars. They headline festivals, dominate the airwaves, and play catchy hits that everyone loves. But how do they do it? What do all of those knobs and buttons do? And what are they always doing in those headphones?

OontzKids DJ Academy will teach the kids & teens how to DJ like a pro. Camp is taught by a professional instructor with a tried & tested curriculum that is not only super effective, but super fun. Kids will work with real DJ equipment and real DJ software to learn the techniques used by the pros, analyzing and modifying songs and and even build a set to perform on the last day.

Wondering what “Oontz” means? Most commonly heard in dance music, this is the sound of a kick drum followed by a high hat on every beat of the song. Say it repeatedly and it will all make sense: “Oontz, oontz, oontz, oontz…

We hope the kids have a great time!
