Earth Native Wilderness School Summer Camps — Unique outdoor nature camps that get kids outside exploring, connecting, and learning old-school style. — Update: Earth Native Wilderness has canceled day camps at McKinney Falls State Park for the weeks of June 1-5 and June 8-12, as well as their Wildlife Summer Camp at the Bastrop Campus. At this time they have also paused all new summer camp enrollments. Please see to their Summer Camp Update page for more information on the status of camps.
Camp 512 — Kids get to explore Austin through adventure and fun at this week-long day camp for grades K – 8. Campers get to learn about Austin’s rich history, cultural diversity, and plethora of natural wonders with exciting field trips every day! Camps held June 8 – August 7. Rio Vista Farm’s Horseback Riding Camp — Animal-lovers ages 7-16 can learn the basics of true horsemanship and establish a good horseback riding foundation from well-qualified staff in a safe environment. No prior riding experience is necessary, and campers are divided into riding groups based on their skill level from beginner on up in small groups. Location: 1000 Fallwell Ln, Del Valle, TX, 78617
YMCA Camp Twin Lakes — Featuring a wide variety of both water and land activities, Camp Twin Lakes offers both day camp and overnight camp options. Situated on 55 acres of park land in Cedar Park, this camp features 2 lakes, canoeing, kayaking, swim beach, Aqua Park, pools, archery range, paintball field, sports complex, covered pavilions and 3 indoor lodges. — Update: YMCA Camp Twin Lakes plans to move forward with day camps beginning on May 26. However, they are postponing the opening of overnight camps until June 21. They are awaiting notice from the CDC and American Camp Association, as well as state and local officials, before finalizing all summer camp plans. Camp Doublecreek — With a variety of classic and exciting activities for children aged 4-14, campers can make summer memories spending their days swimming, playing soccer, volleyball, basketball or mini golf, trying archery, a ropes course, or horseback riding, as well as making arts and crafts projects and new friends, too! Located in Round Rock, Camp Doublecreek provides free transportation to and from a wide range of Austin area locations. Click here for pickup info. — Update: Camp Doublecreek is closely monitoring updates from the CDC, as well as advice from local, state and national government officials. At this time there are no changes planned for summer camp. Please continue to check their website for updates.
McKinney Roughs Nature Park Summer Camps – Just east of Austin, McKinney Roughs Nature Park has 1,100 acres of pine forests and box canyons where your child can experience outdoor adventures at weekly summer camps. These day camps are designed for ages 5 to 15. An optional shuttle service to and from the park is offered from two Austin locations. Campers explore the week’s theme through a combination of adventure activities, such as guided hikes, swimming, challenge courses, river trips, experiments, nature play and games. — Update: After much consideration, LCRA Parks has reluctantly decided to cancel the 2020 summer camps scheduled for Matagorda Bay Nature Park and McKinney Roughs Nature Park. As an alternative, LCRA Parks is working to design small-group experiences at three parks. They will post additional information about this option on this page as it becomes available.
