On Saturday, Nov. 14, you can bring the family to Austin’s first-ever Piñata Picnic! Held on the waterfront of Edward Rednon Sr. Park at Festival Beach from noon – 4 p.m., you’ll find piñatas everywhere for the community to view and for children to break!
Las Piñatas art installation: Through November 22, visitors can find a small herd of piñata burros grazing in Edward Rendon Sr. Park as part of the Las Piñatas art installation commission by the City of Austin Arts in Public Places Program. It’s also an official stop on the the East Austin Studio Tour.
When you come to the Piñata Picnic, you’ll be able to view these sculptures as well as find breakable pinatas sourced from Jumpolin and other local businesses in the East Austin neighborhood. You can click here to become a piñata patron and help make this a successful event. All donations will be used to buy piñatas and the materials needed for the picnic.
