On Saturday, Feb. 21 you can take the kids to Mueller Lake Park to shoot rockets, see how parachutes help firefighters, design a flood-proof city and more! Rockets to the Rescue is a free event for families designed to showcase how technology helps Central Texas in times of disaster, hosted by 4-H CAPITAL for National Youth Science Day.  Stop by between 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. to check out these activities presented by the Thinkery, Girlstart, and Austin AmeriCorps Awareness.

4-H National Youth Science Day is an exciting, interactive learning experience that engages thousands of youth across the country in conducting the National Science Experiment, and now 4-H CAPITAL brings this event to Austin. 4-H CAPITAL provides high quality after-school enrichment programs for area youth that focus on science, engineering and technology. 4-H CAPITAL AmeriCorps members teach these programs at 39 local school sites.
