The Texas Memorial Museum invites everyone to celebrate the end of a successful school year with free admission on Saturday, June 6. This awesome, science-focused museum on the UT campus will be open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with lots of activities and special events from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Kids can chat with a paleontologist, check out the dig pit and stop by the fossil identification stations.
This museum has a focus on dinosaurs and fossils, Texas wildlife, gems and minerals. They also have a working Paleontology Lab where visitors can interact with scientists. Within the exhibits, you’ll find specimens found in Texas, including the largest flying creature ever found—the Texas Pterosaur, with a wingspan of nearly 40 feet–and the 30-foot mosasaur that swam the shallow sea which once covered most of the state.
