Get a little taste of Bollywood right here in Austin with the Scottish Rite Theater’s production of Little Red Chunari, premiering on Saturday, Feb. 8, and playing every weekend through Sunday, Feb. 23.
If the name of the play evokes a sense of deja vu, it’s for good reason. Directed by Susan Gayle Todd, it’s an Indian adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood that follows Little Red Chunari’s journey through the jungle to visit her grandparents. The performance will keep both kids and adults entertained with folk and Bollywood-style dance, puppetry and stand-up comedy.
Each show will also feature live music from Austin’s own Sacred Cowgirls and dance from Monsoon Dance and Devi School of Dance.
