Celebrate Dr. Seuss from Monday, Mar. 2 through Saturday, Mar. 7 at the Austin Public Library’s University Hills Branch. Seuss X Seuss West is a week-long celebration of Dr. Seuss’ creative books and characters in honor of his birthday and Read Across America Day. You can check out the list of free special events below, but you can also stop by the library any time during the week for puzzles and games, prize-drawings and geocaching for the whole family.

  • Monday, Mar. 2
    – 6 p.m. –  Dual Language Dr. Seuss Storytime
    – 6:45 p.m. –  Dr. Seuss Birthday Party
  • Tuesday, Mar. 3
    6:30 p.m. – Help The Lorax Speak for the Trees, Learn about recycling, mulching, and composting
  • Wednesday, Mar. 4
    6:30 p.m. — Start a Lorax Garden, Plant seeds and take home vegetable plants for your garden!
  • Saturday, Mar. 7
    2 p.m. –  Movie screening: The Lorax, Snacks, popcorn, beverages!

National Eduation Association’s Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2, Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens and books, and you can too!
