Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day takes place on Saturday, May 2. In Texas, awareness is more important than ever. One in five children and youth have a diagnosable mental health need, and children and families need to know it’s okay to seek help.
Everyone is invited to join the Texas System of Care at the Stand up and Soar for Children’s Mental Health event on Saturday, May 2. The event kicks off at the Texas State Capitol at 11 a.m. and then moves on to Wooldridge Square Park for an afternoon of fun that includes a raffle, a Lego booth from Snapology Austin, a performance from Kids in the New Groove, a photo booth, crafts, face painting, kite flying and more.
Capitol:
- 10:45 a.m. – Arrive to Capitol
- 11 a.m. – Rally at the Capitol
- 11:45 a.m. – Begin Walk to Wooldridge Square Park
Park:
- 12:15 p.m. – Arrive at Park
- 12:30 p.m. – Announcement
- 1 p.m. – Picnics, games, raffle, crafts, etc. begin
- 2 p.m. – Event ends
Everyone is encouraged to wear green shoes or pin green ribbons to your shoes. Green ribbons will be provided on site.
Feel free to pack a picnic lunch to bring to the park. This event is also pet-friendly.
