Statesman Cap10K

Every spring, runners, fitness enthusiasts and families converge in downtown Austin for the Statesman Capitol 10K, presented by Baylor Scott & White Health. Giving support to the old saying “everything’s bigger in Texas”, the Cap10K race is the largest 10K race in Texas and one of the top 10 in the nation! For many locals it has become a rite of spring. Mark your calendars — and register now — for this big event on Sunday, April 7 in downtown Austin!

Open to all ages, you’re encouraged to run, walk, push that baby stroller, or even bring along your pup for a race through Austin’s picturesque downtown. Then at the Finish Line Festival, you can celebrate your accomplishment with live music, food trucks, a beer garden, kids zone and more.

April 7: The Statesman Cap10K Race

Start: South Congress Avenue (Ann Richards Bridge)
Finish: Vic Mathias Shores Main Event Lawn

  • 7:30 a.m. Wheelchair Athlete Start
  • 8 a.m. Race Start Elite
  • 8 a.m. Race Start Corral A
  • 8:10 a.m. Race Start Corral B
  • 8:20 a.m. Race Start Corral C
  • 8:30 a.m. Race Start Corral D
  • 8:30 a.m. Race Start Baby Jogger Division
  • 8:40 a.m. Race Start Corral E & F
  • 8:50 a.m. Start Line Closes
  • 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon) Finish Line Festival
  • 10:30 a.m. Team Awards Presentation
  • 11 a.m. Race Course Closes
  • 12 p.m. Finish Line Festival concludes

Baby Jogger Family Start Area
The Family Baby Jogger Starting Area is a family friendly staging area for baby joggers with a few great perks. Families are invited to take advantage of free reserved parking at the Austin American-Statesman, conveniently located at the start line (parking pass required). Once you’ve parked, head to this staging area near Corral D for family only restrooms, diaper changing tent, complimentary juice, and free pinwheels for kids.

After the race, be sure to stick around for all of the fun at the Finish Line Festival on the lawn of Vic Mathias Shores. Enjoy live music, food trucks, and a YMCA CapKids Zone filled with inflatable obstacle courses, games and more.

You can click here to register online. The cost is $50 for and adult or $35 for children ages 10 and younger. Note that the registration fee Increase on April 1 to $55/adult & $40/youth.
