Summer Camps at the JCC of Austin

Summer will be here before you know it, and this is the best time to enroll your child in an engaging summer camp program. JCamps, hosted by the Jewish Community Center of Austin, offers the ultimate day camp experience for toddlers to 10th graders on their 40-acre campground in Northwest Austin. Kids can have a blast with classic summer camp activities such as archery, swimming, arts and crafts, music, dancing and also engage in exciting programs including Lego robotics, gymnastics, STEM activities, the study of Israeli culture and more.

All JCamps promote self-confidence and exploration, creativity, positive values and a strong sense of connection to the community. Camps are broken up by age-groups:

–> Camp Gan Kef — for campers born between September 1, 2014 and August 31, 2012. Camp Gan Kef operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for all ages with early care options available beginning at 7 a.m. and extended care options available until 6 p.m. Camp sessions run from June 5 – August 18.

  • Gan Kef means “preschool fun” in Hebrew. Join us for a memorable summer filled to the brim with preschool fun. The ECP is staffed with dedicated, professional preschool teachers and assistants, who are extensively trained in both Early Childhood Education and summer camp culture. –> School-Aged Camps — for campers entering grades K – 10. Hours are 9 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Camp sessions run from June 5 – August 23.

  • Camp Shalom (Grades K-6)
    Includes activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, athletics, camping skills, dance, drama, video, ga-ga, Israeli culture, music, nature, and Shabbat celebrations. The summer is also filled with special events and ongoing programs like Splash Day, Color War, Israel Day, JCC Camp Bandstand, JCC CampVirture Program and JCC Cares Community Service Program.
  • Sports Camps (Grades K-6)
    Offers team sports like basketball and soccer and gymnastics, along with special events and ongoing programs. Our motivational program offers incentives for cooperation, teamwork, effort and sportsmanship. Come for your favorite sport or an entire summer of action-packed fun.
  • Camp Tiyul (Grades 7-9)
    Allows campers to explore everything Texas has to offer, with field trips, team building, community service projects, and overnight adventures.
  • Leaders-in-Training: LIT (Grade 10)
    Formerly counselor-in-training, is a program that allows teens a multifaceted experience, incorporating three core components: leadership training, hands-on counselor skills guidance and fun, social programming. Participants will receive a minimum of 45 community service hours and are eligible for a higher rate of pay as Assistant Counselors at Camp Shalom.
