12th Annual Keep Austin Weird Festival & 5K

Weirdos, get ready to celebrate your weird and revel in everyone else’s because it’s time for the Keep Austin Weird Fest & 5K, happening Saturday, June 28 at the Long Center. The fest will start at 2 pm and the 5K is set for 7 pm.

Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival

The Hill Country Galleria will host its annual Independence Day Festival on Saturday, June 28 from 4 pm – midnight. Celebrate America with music, food, arts and crafts vendors, rides ,games, fireworks and more. Free admission and free parking!

Austin Film Festival’s Summer Film Camps

Summer Film Camp, presented by Austin Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Program, still has space available in its amazing summer camp full of screenwriting, filmmaking and claymation workshops for ages 9 – 18. Camp will be held at St. Austin Catholic School, with sessions available through August 1.

Compressed Air Rocket Workshop

Families can sign up for the Compressed Air Rocket Workshop at TechShop Round Rock on Saturday, June 21 from 1 – 4 pm and make their own rocket and launcher!

Cedar Park Rodeo at Cedar Park Center

The Cedar Park Rodeo returns to the Cedar Park Center Friday – Sunday June 20 – 22. There will be two days of professional rodeo action on June 20 – 21, and the weekend will finish out with the Professional Bull Riders Touring (PBR) Pro Division on June 22.

Nature Nights – Fossils!

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will be hosting Nature Nights every Thursday from 5 – 8 pm (except July 3) until July 24. Nature Nights are fun and interactive explorations of nature at one of the most lovely and kid-friendly places in the city. This program is great fun and makes for an awesome learning experience for kids of all ages. This week celebrates Fossils!

Children’s Day Art Park

For a whopping 50 cents per child families can expereince local musicians, storytellers, dancers, magicians, mimes and craftspeople. Kids can try their hands at art projects under the Art Tent, experience Ballet Folklorico and Latin Jazz, talk to members of the symphony, and hear them play their instruments.
