You can check out a home and garden show, attend a very Austin-y book premier, go ice skating or see some awesome live music that’s just for the kids.
Ballet Austin’s FREE Get Fit Event
Ballet Austin presents: Get Fit!, a free day of sample classes for teens and adults at the Butler Community School from 1:30 – 5:30 pm, designed to motivate you to get fit in the new year. There will be a Kids Zone for ages 4 – 10, so bring the whole family!
Groundwork Music Orchestra & Que Pastas at Strange Brew
Saturday, Jan. 11 is going to be a fun day in kid’s music! The Que Pastas will play a free show at 10 am, followed by a $5 show from the Groundwork Music Orchestra at 11:30 am, both at Strange Brew. You can get your coffee fix while the kids get their kindie fix.
Magical Unicorn Party at Toy Joy
Yep, it’s a unicorn party, complete with free glitter and UNICORN-LED CARRIAGES. The Magical Unicorn Party will be at Toy Joy on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 3 – 5 pm.
Itty Bitty Playtime at Millie & Mox
It’s a new year, so it must be time to take the new people out for a spin. Starting today and continuing every other Wednesday from 10 – 11 am at Millie & Mox, the littlest littles can enjoy some Itty Bitty Playtime of their very own with songs, socializing and more. Reserved for babies and pre-walkers and their caregivers, this group is free to attend.

Austin Home and Garden Show
Turn your home and garden dreams into a reality and attend the 16th Annual Austin Home and Garden Show, taking place at the Austin Convention Center from Friday, Jan. 10 – Sunday, Jan. 12. You’ll find tons of exhibits in everything from decks, pools, spas, plants, landscape displays and materials, kitchenware and much more, and the kids will have plenty to do in the Kid’s Zone (plus, kids are FREE)!
