2nd Annual Barton Springs Fest

This weekend, Save Our Springs Alliance hosts a full day of fun at Austin’s beloved Barton Springs at the 2nd Annual Barton Springs Fest. Come and celebrate the day in 1992 when the City Council adopted the citizen-initiated Save Our Springs Ordinance with eco-tours, poetry, kids activities, live music, and – of course – a dip in the sweet, cool waters of the springs.

Nature Nights – Fossils!

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will be hosting Nature Nights every Thursday from 5 – 8 pm (except July 3) until July 24. Nature Nights are fun and interactive explorations of nature at one of the most lovely and kid-friendly places in the city. This program is great fun and makes for an awesome learning experience for kids of all ages. This week celebrates Fossils!

Children’s Day Art Park

For a whopping 50 cents per child families can expereince local musicians, storytellers, dancers, magicians, mimes and craftspeople. Kids can try their hands at art projects under the Art Tent, experience Ballet Folklorico and Latin Jazz, talk to members of the symphony, and hear them play their instruments.

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt & Movie in the Park

On Thursday, Apr. 17 starting at 7:15 pm, join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department in Old Settlers Park for its annual Flashlight Egg Hunt. Let your flashlight be your guide to candy, eggs and prizes and then stay for a movie in the park featuring the family movie The Rise of the Guardians. Be sure to look for the golden eggs- they can be redeemed for a special prize basket!

SXSW Outdoor Stage at Butler Park

In the past, SXSW has hosted free, outdoor concerts at Auditorium Shores. Since that location is now under construction, the Outdoor Stage at Butler Park will be the new temporary home. Thursday, Mar. 13 – Saturday, Mar. 15, get to Butler Park and see some major acts, all for free!
