Tea Time at The Steeping Room

When the winter weather turns cold, visions of lovely little tea parties quickly came to mind. Enjoying a cup of hot tea is a perfectly regular daily habit, but going out for tea — that’s another story. Asking friends to join you for tea or taking the little ones for tea time is a special experience.IMG_9671At The Steeping Room, tea time can be anytime. No need to schedule reservations. No need to dress up in your most elegant attire (although feel free if you wish). No need to spend a fortune on the experience, either. The Steeping Room on North Lamar  is a simply decorated, modern tea room full of natural light and a very calming environment. Their menu is huge, offering an expansive array of  tea-inspired treats. They are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner or tea time with a menu that features natural meats, organic dairy, cage-free eggs as well as gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan selections.IMG_9910We stopped by with friends, including a sweet little four-year-old who was eager to sip tea with us. With so many choices on the menu, it’s pretty hard to make decisions. We opted for a big variety of items — a pot of green tea, vegan sandwiches and cupcakes to share. And for the young lady at our table, we chose the Children’s Tea. For $12.95, children ages 12 and under can get a tea sandwich from a variety of choices, a scone, jam, tea cookie and fruit with a pot of premium tea, apple juice, or lemonade (gluten-free available) or hot chocolate. There are also many unique tea services for adults, too, ranging from traditional options or Mediterranean-inspired choices. (Click here to view the tea service menu.)
