Have you and your kids been missing play time at Thinkery during the pandemic? We love Austin’s children’s museum for fun, interactive learning experiences! It’s always such a great place for families to engage and explore STEAM-based concepts together, and we’re delighted that it is now open with new health and safety procedures at the forefront of their new Path to Play experience.
What is Path to Play? This is Thinkery’s new one-way format for exploring exhibits inside the museum. Visitors will reserve their timed tickets in advance. Guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their ticketed entry to take part in a quick wellness check and to go over the new process. When visitors begin their museum play time, they will have 90-minutes to move through the museum in small groups of 10 or less in a manner designed to maintain proper social distancing and minimize interaction with other guests.
New to Path to Play is a fun pig scavenger hunt. Visitors can use a Path to Play Trail Map as a guide and to solve the mystery of the museum’s lost pigs!
The galleries and exhibits that are currently open include: Fresh! Farmers Market, Currents, Light Lab, Our Backyard, and Innovators’ Workshop. Galleries that don’t allow for social distancing are not open at this time. In order to create the safest environment for staff and guests, any items that could not be sanitized multiple times per day were temporarily removed from the galleries.
