Alamo Kids Camp @ Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas
Monday, Dec. 28 – Friday, Jan. 1, various times/locations
Take the kids to a movie for only $1- $3 admission! Enjoy Annie (1982 version) and The Little Rascals (1994 version). You can choose your own ticket price and buy your tickets online to reserve your seats in advance. 100% of ticket sales are donated to local nonprofits. Annie is playing Monday – Thursday at Lakeline at 9:05 a.m. & Slaughter Lane at 10:05 a.m. The Little Rascals is playing Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at The Village at 11 a.m. Click here to purchase tickets.

“Create Your Own” Kids Workshops @ Bullock Museum
Monday, Dec. 28 – Wednesday, Dec. 30, 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. each day
Kids ages 6 and up can make and take their own artifacts! Each workshop lasts about 40 minutes and features a short talk followed by hands-on art making fun. Topics include: Monday — Fantastic Fossils, Tuesday — Historic Writing Kits, and Wednesday — La Belle Artifacts. The workshops are free with regular museum admission ($10 for adults and $8 for ages 4-17.)

Snowy Snowy Storytime @ BookPeople
Tuesday, Dec. 29, 10:30 a.m.
Come yearn for wonderful wintry weather with a storytime celebrating the beautiful, blanketing allure of fresh snow. Come share the classic story Snow and other stories, and make paper snowflakes to take home! Free!

Austin’s New Year @ Auditorium Shores
Thursday, Dec. 31, 4-10 p.m.
Join the annual New Year’s Eve celebration with a variety of art, food trucks and live music. The event is alcohol-free, family-friendly and includes a great lineup of musicians including Groupo Fantasma, Golden Dawn Arkestra and Carolyn Wonderland. The event begins at 4 p.m. with a fireworks finale at 10 p.m.! Free!

New Year’s Day Parade @ Doug Sahm Hill
Friday, Jan. 1, 2:30 p.m.
The Minor Mishap Marching Band will lead an annual stroll from the top of Doug Sahm Hill down to the magical waters of Lady Bird Lake. Follow along in the merriment. Free (& carefree).
