Do your children get excited when they drive by the fire station, hoping to see a glimpse of the fire engine? Do they ask you to stop at construction sites to watch the “diggers”? Are they obsessed with cars and trucks? For any families with little ones who are really into vehicles, you won’t want to miss the annual Touch-A-Truck event at Camp Mabry. This family friendly event benefits the SAFE Alliance, supporting hundreds of children who receive housing, healing, and support through their programs.

Kids of all ages are invited to climb on and play in a variety of trucks from fire trucks and ambulances to backhoes and bulldozers. In addition, you can expect live music, food trucks, and a Kid Zone complete with a petting zoo, face painting, barrel-train rides and more.

Touch-A-Truck is a fun way for kids to explore vehicles they have seen in movies, books, or just driving down the street. But more than that, Touch-A-Truck represents what the SAFE Alliance is all about – helping to promote happy, healthy families in our community.

A few tips for attending Touch-A-Truck:

  • Don’t forget sunscreen, hats, and closed toe shoes.
  • Truck horns are very loud! If noise is an issue, please bring hearing protection.
  • To avoid the traffic rush, head over to the event at 12 p.m. or after.
  • Please note that Camp Mabry is a military base and requires a photo ID for entry.

You can learn more about this event and how your admission supports local families in need on the SAFE website.

Have fun!
