The whole family is invited to the MACC (Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center) on Saturday, September 12 from 6 – 9 p.m. for ¡VIVA MÉXICO! Celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day with children’s activities, live music, dance performers, theatre and food vendors at this free, annual event!

  • 6:30p.m. – Oaxaca, Arte y Movimiento | Baile y Poesía
  • 7:15 p.m. – Bienvenida/ Welcome Remarks, ESB-MACC Manager Herlinda Zamora presents:
    Crosswalk Project Mery Godigna Collet & Luis Gutiérrez
  • 7:30 p.m. – Teatro Espacio Agua Viva, Se Vende Una Mula
  • 8 p.m. – Hispanic Alliance for the Performing Arts and Soundwaves presents Youth Classical Orchestra Grupo Huapango Arribeño, Special Guest Speaker: Consul General de México Carlos González Gutiérrez
  • 9 p.m. – Mariachi Las Coronelas, Himno Nacional de México

All visitors are also invited to attend the art opening in the main gallery for a new exhibit, Cosmic Vida In the Sam Z. Coronado Gallery.

This event is free for the entire family! A shuttle will be available starting at 6 p.m. at Sanchez Elementary and Martin Middle School.
