Iconic Portland doughnut shop, Voodoo Doughnut, has come to Austin’s 6th Street with their first shop in Texas! On Saturday, Oct. 31, they will host a Grand Opening event at 2 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a performance by Texas band, The Hickoids, at 3 p.m.
Voodoo Doughnut is famous for its creative and wacky doughnuts like the Mango Tango doughnut (a raised yeast doughnut filled with mango jelly and topped with vanilla frosting and tang), the Memphis Mafia doughnut (fried dough with banana chunks and cinnamon covered in a glaze with chocolate frosting, peanut butter, peanuts and chocolate chips) and the Voodoo Doll doughnut (filled with raspberry jelly and topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake.
The Grand Opening celebration continues on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. when they host an all-female DEVO cover band, We Are Not Men.
Can’t make it to the Grand Opening? No worries. They will be open will be open 24 hours a day, so you’ll have plenty of options for getting over there for your daytime or nighttime doughnut fix.
