It’s time for the Spring Open House and Field Day at the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center. Head out there on Sunday, Mar. 30 from 10 am – 3 pm for special topical tours on birds, wildflowers, insects and geology as well as fun activities for the family.
And, if you’re into bird sightings, it will be prime timing for the Golden Cheeked Warbler! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy under the shade trees or purchase Rocky Creek BBQ on site. Admission is $10 adults / children 12 and under free.
If you have never been to the Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center, it’s a gorgeous 30-acre preserve about 25 minutes west of Austin on Hamilton Pool Rd. The grounds include a picturesque cave and grotto, complete with a 40-foot waterfall that can only be entered by guided tour. It’s a beautiful and delicate piece of nature, try to make it out if you can!
