Year of the Goat Celebration at Chinatown Center

Each year, Austin’s Chinatown Center hosts an impressive celebration to ring in the Lunar New Year with dragon and lion dancers, firecrackers, kids activities, delicious food and more. On Saturday, Feb. 21 everyone’s invited to celebrate The Year of the Goat at this Chinese New Year party from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The celebration is open to the public and admission is free.

Chinatown Center is located in North Austin at the intersection of Kramer and North Lamar and includes a large variety of Asian shops and restaurants. During the Chinese New Year celebration, the entire area is jam-packed with exciting activities.

Below you’ll find the schedule of events. The celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. with a morning of dance and martial arts performances, drums, Dragon/Lion dances and firecrackers. Kids can enjoy face painting, rock wall, bungee trampoline, a magic show and more.
